On 18 September 2026 H7-25, the electroacoustic duo I share with Gianluca Catuogno, presented OVERT[o]URISM, a live electronics performance, at the tenth edition of MA/IN festival. The concert took place at KORA – Centro del Contemporaneo in Castrignano de’ Greci (Lecce).
The piece
The title plays with a single lowercase letter caught between capitals: that small “o” is all it takes to turn an overture into overtourism. The piece is about fragile balances broken by excess, whether environmental, informational or psychological.
The sound ecosystem starts from almost nothing: background noise fed into feedback circuits. From there it grows and multiplies until it saturates into chaos, alternating with moments of silence. The performance is a free improvisation, built on close listening between the two of us.
