A sound theatre work conceived by Sonia Bergamasco, one of Italy’s most acclaimed actresses, with Tempo Reale. The project grew out of the wish to explore the paths that research on the voice can take thanks to new technologies, and found in Mallarmé’s Hérodiade a fascinating context, rich in stimuli. Salome, a figure of great sensuality and ambiguity, was for Mallarmé himself the starting point of a new poetics, fed by new words and evocative terms that create resonances, impressions, analogies and a multiplicity of meanings. In this spirit, the electronics enter the world the text evokes through the voice: live electronics can expand, amplify and deconstruct the vocal and textual path, giving it a dramaturgical form tied to the space and to the moment.
